Laboratory work

We have brand new, state-of-the-art Idexx laboratory suite of machines that screen for kidney, liver, and thyroid diseases, run urinalysis in minutes, as well as running Progesterone levels for assistance in breeding issues.

Senior pets are recommended to have additional bloodwork during their annual wellness visit. This bloodwork checks a larger variety of blood and urine parameters including kidney, liver, pancreatic, and thyroid function as well as general blood counts and a heartworm test. The blood and urine samples are sent off to an outside laboratory. 

Any animal undergoing a procedure that requires anesthesia is recommended to have pre-anesthetic bloodwork. This will check kidney and liver function as well as glucose and protein levels prior to the procedure .

A fecal sample is used to diagnose intestinal parasites or "worms". We recommend a fecal test at your pet's annual wellness visit and offer a variety of dewormers to treat each specific intestinal parasite.

Coggins tests, complete blood work, thyroid, Cushings tests, and drug tests for prepurchase exams are available daily.

Identify open cows and improve reproductive efficiency by sending us blood samples for same-day testing. We provide sample collection supplies at no additional cost.
