To ensure compliance with Tennessee veterinary regulations, federal drug safety standards, and to protect the health and safety of our patients, clients, and staff, Northwest Tennessee Veterinary Services, LLC maintains the following prescription medication return policy:

Prescription medications that have left the clinic may not be returned for credit, refund, or resale. This policy applies to all prescription drugs, including oral medications, topical medications, injectables, compounded medications, and refrigerated products.

Because storage conditions outside the clinic cannot be verified, returned medications cannot be guaranteed to have maintained their safety, stability, or effectiveness once dispensed.

Controlled substances cannot be accepted for reuse, credit, or redistribution under any circumstances in accordance with state and federal regulations governing controlled medications.

If Northwest Tennessee Veterinary Services, LLC has made an error in dispensing a medication, the medication can be replaced or corrected. Any concerns regarding dispensing errors should be reported promptly upon discovery.

Medications subject to manufacturer recalls or confirmed product defects may qualify for replacement or refund in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.

Clients are encouraged to dispose of unused or expired medications through approved medication take-back programs or according to FDA and Tennessee disposal recommendations. Medications should not be flushed or discarded improperly unless specifically instructed by labeling guidelines.

Medications purchased from outside pharmacies, online pharmacies, or third-party vendors cannot be returned to Northwest Tennessee Veterinary Services, LLC for credit, exchange, or disposal.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to maintain compliance with veterinary medical standards and ensure the safety and integrity of all medications dispensed by our practice.
